On November 20th, 2012, the Japan-Canada Chamber of Commerce held a business law informational seminar, hosted by Mr Victor Tsao, lawyer and trademark agent at Farris.
In 2009, some major legislative changes came into effect in regards to federally registered not-for-profit organizations, namely, the adoption of the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act ( S.C. 2009, c. 23), which came into force last year. Among other things, the new legislation requires all federally registered non-profit organizations such as Japan-Canada Chamber of Commerce to file new bylaws and other legal documents to Industry Canada by Oct. 17, 2014. Mr. Tsao explained some changes of our bylaws.
