JCCOC Networking Event

On, October 10th, 2012, we had an opportunity to mingle with our friends: Consul Naomi Namatame & Consul Yoshiyuki Tomi, Mr Noriyuki Uchiya (CBSA) & Mr Keisuke Tsujimoto (JOGMEC) at Minami Japanese Restaurant.  All are affiliated with the Japanese Government and contribute their energy to enhance the stable relationship between Japan and Canada.

Our guests were as follows (in no particular order):

■ Ms Naomi Namatame — Consul, Consulate-General of Japan in Vancouver. Entered the Ministry of Economic, Trade and Industry in 1991.

She was mainly involved with assisting firms for international expansion — in particular, trade and investment insurance, claims recovery, country risk analysis, and Economic Partnership Agreement.

■ Mr Yoshiyuki Tomi — Consul, Consulate-General of Japan in Vancouver.
Entered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992, and worked at the Consulate-General of Japan in Jeju, Korea from 2004, Korea Embassy of Japan from 2009.

■ Mr. Noriyuki Uchiya — Senior Officer, Container Security Initiative and Intelligence, Japan Customs c/o Canada Border Services Agency.

In charge of Container Security Initiative which started from January 2009 between Japan Customs and Canada Border Services Agency.

■ Mr. Keisuke (Kay) Tsujimoto — General Manager of Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) Vancouver Office.

In this capacity, his responsibilities include introducing mining and energy businesses in US and Canada to Japanese firms for future opportunities and facilitating Japanese firms by providing information, technical support and financial support.
