Report on the 3rd "Connecting Academy" Lecture

I would like to report on the 3rd "Tsunagu Juku" (Connecting Workshop) held on October 20th.

[Steveston Walking Tour Tracing the History of Japanese Immigration] by veteran guide Miwa

We held the event last Sunday, and 10 people participated! I think the participants were able to reflect on many things after learning about the history of Japanese immigration to Canada.

In an era when it was not as easy to return to Japan as it is today, the determination of Japanese immigrants who risked their lives to go to Canada is immeasurable. Learning about their history, in which they bravely survived turbulent times such as World War II, made me realize anew how fortunate we are to live in today's environment.

On the other hand, we too are said to be living in an unstable era where we don't know when or what will happen, as some say that World War III has already begun. I think this tour has given us an opportunity to think about what we can do now.

We plan to increase outdoor activities like this one in the future. We will also strive to provide a space where people can gain new insights and find like-minded and respectable companions!
