Information on joining the Japan-Canada Chamber of Commerce (JC-COC)

We welcome companies, associations, organizations, sole proprietors, and individuals who support our objectives and activities to join. Membership requires review by the Chamber of Commerce Secretariat and approval by the Board of Directors. If you wish to join, please apply to the Secretariat.

Application and Membership Process

Membership Eligibility

Companies, associations, organizations, or individuals that meet the conditions of these association's regulations.

Types of membership

The Japan-Canada Chamber of Commerce has two membership categories: corporate members and individual members.
Furthermore, each group is further subdivided into local members and members residing in remote locations abroad.

1. Corporate Membership (Up to 2 people can be registered)

• Local subsidiary members
- The representative office of the Japanese corporation or its local branch, office, or representative office.
- Local head office or branch office of a Canadian company that has a direct or indirect business relationship with Japan.
Other associations and organizations located in this area
• Corporate members located overseas or in remote areas
- A Japanese corporation, its branch, or liaison office registered outside of Canada or Canada, which conducts commercial or other business activities in Canada.

2. Individual Membership (Only one person can register, including the applicant)

• Local individual members
• Sole proprietor
Japanese nationals employed by local companies (individual members)
Individuals who contribute to the Japanese community
• Individual members residing in remote areas abroad

Membership fee (annual fee)

• Corporate Membership $175.00
Individual Member $100.00
Membership fees are due from July 1st to June 30th of the following year.
For those joining mid-year, the fee for the first year will be prorated monthly, and thereafter, it will be renewed once a year.

*Please fill in your desired start month on the membership application form and submit it to the secretariat (membership application reception staff).
Please note that the review and processing process may take approximately one month or more. Therefore, please submit your application form one month before your desired membership start date.

Membership cancellation procedure

If you wish to withdraw your membership, please fill out the withdrawal form and submit it to the secretariat (jccoc.office@gmail.com).
Please note that our membership is on an annual fee basis, and therefore, refunds will not be issued after your application has been accepted.

BECOME A MEMBER

The Japan Canada Chamber of Commerce (JC-COC) welcomes all businesses, associations, organizations, entrepreneurs and individuals who share the common policies with JC-COC. Your membership application is completed after processed by the JC-COC Office and approved by the Board. Please complete the membership application form and send it to the Office.

JOIN

Please understand JC-COC goals and policies.
Please thoroughly read JC-COC rules and privacy policy.
Complete the membership form to JC-COC Secretary General.
The Office processes your form.
The Office sends you a welcome letter and invoice.
Complete your payment of the membership fee.
You are registered as a JC-COC member.

All businesses, associations, organizations, and individuals who meet JC-COC policies

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

JC-COC offer the Corporate Membership and the Individual Membership. Each has the Local Member and the Remote Member.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP (FOR UP TO TWO MEMBERS)

The Corporate Membership is for:

A local corporation in Canada
A head office, branch, and resident office of a Japanese corporation
A Canadian business which is in a direct or indirect buisness relationships with Japan.
An association or organization located in Canada
One of the above located remotely
A branch or office of a Japanese corporation registered out of Canada or BC which operates businesses and/or any other business activities in Canada.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP (FOR ONE MEMBER)

An individual residence in Canada
An individual business owner
An employee hired by a local buisness in Canada
An individual belonging to a Japanese community
One of the above residing remotely

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Corporate Membership: $175
Individual Membership: $100

JC-COC fiscal year is from July 1 to June 30 of the following year. When joining in the middle of a year, the membership fee of the first year is recalculated by the month, and the full amount must be paid by July 1 from the second year onward.

Please write the month you hope to join JC-COC on the application form, and send it to the Office. The process time is approximately one month; we suggest you submit your applicin form one month before the time you hope to activate your membership.

PAYMENT METHODS

JC-COC accountant sends you an invoice.
Please complete your payment by check or E-Transfer within 30 days after the invoice is sent out.

HOW TO TERMINATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Please complete the membership termination form and send it to the Office (jccoc.office@gmail.com).
Please be kindly advised that your annual membership fee is not refundable.
