Contents:Japan Video Translation Academy (JVTA)Nobuaki Fudetani, head of the Los Angeles campus, will discuss topics such as "The current state and future of the video translation profession," "What it means to study video translation," and "Trends in the video translation market, including the current state of overseas expansion of popular Japanese manga and anime."

Vancouver, with its thriving video industry and large number of Japanese students, has strong ties to video translation, so I will also discuss studying video translation there.

■Speakers

Nobuaki Fudetani
After graduating from Kyoto University's Faculty of Law in 1990, he joined the foreign-owned consulting firm Bain & Company. In 1993, he joined ISS Co., Ltd., becoming a director in 1994 and representative director in 1998. He resigned in 2010, and after serving as a director of a game development company, he became a director of Japan Video Translation Academy Co., Ltd. (JVTA) in 2015 (concurrently serving as representative director of the Los Angeles subsidiary), a position he holds to this day. His hobbies include domestic and international travel, watching sports, reading manga and anime, and playing musical instruments.
