Happy New Year! Our organization has many events planned for this year as well.
The first event will be a welcome event for the junior storytellers who will pass on the history of immigration from Mio Village (now Mihama Town), Hidaka District, Wakayama Prefecture, which sent thousands of immigrants to Steveston, Richmond, more than 100 years ago. Another great-grandchild of Gihei Kuno, who lives in Canada, and his family will participate in this event.
Venue: SELC Language College, 321 Water Street, Vancouver
Membership fee: $10 (general public), $5 (students)

Dear JCCOC members,
Happy New Year! We are planning a variety of events this year.
The very first event will be a welcome reception for the Kataribe Junior from Hinomisaki Amerika-mura. A few thousand people immigrated to Steveston, Richmond, from Mio, Wakayama 1oo some years ago.
The Kataribe Juniors are the storytellers about the history of Wakayama immigrants who made a great success. The other great grand-son of Gihei Kuno and his family will join the event.
