Dear JCCOC Members,
The Zoom event between Yuriage (Natori City) and Canada entitled “Let’s Connect, Yuriage and Canada(International Exchange between Yuriage and Canada)” is going to be held, JC-COC is going to be supporting (後援) this project.
As a Visiting Scholar of Ritsumeikan University, I (Taro Whitred, JC-COC director) have been working with the university’s research group to promote the connection between the city of Natori in Japan and Canada.
Natori City received a tremendous support from Canada in 2011 after the massive earthquake and tsunami in the region and since then the two regions have been exchanging, but the connection/relation has been fading. I’m working now to reaccelerate the relation so they can benefit from each other.
This particular Zoom event is done in a smaller scale that creates an opportunity for the people in Yuriage (Natori) to communicate with the people in Canada who supported them in 2011 in one way or another.
The event will reaffirm the progress of Yuriage’s restoration to date, and to give momentum to the future development of the relationship between Canada and Natori City.
◇Date &Time:Feb.25(Sat)14:00~15:15PM(PST)
*Registration is required to receive the Zoom link

To cherish the connection between Canada and Yuriage after the disaster, an event was planned to allow for a two-way exchange in a visible form. On the day of the event, Zoom will be used to connect both sides online and hold an exchange meeting.
