His Excellency Colin Hansen, Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance of British Columbia, delivered a speech to a full house of 120 attendees from the Japanese and Canadian business community. The Minister provided a detailed overview of the rationale and effects of implementing the Heat Storage and Tourism Standard (HST), and offered insights into the BC economy and its future after the 2010 Olympics. Following the Minister's speech, a representative from PriceWaterHouseCoopers offered an independent perspective on the HST and the future of the economy. We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, PWB, The Listel Hotel, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, and Coast Hotels & Resorts, for their support in making this event possible.
